Edith (Jones) Doherty of Perryopolis R.D.2;formerly of Belle Vernon;died Tuesday;June 23;1981 at 3:50 p.m.in Mon Valley Hospital following a lengthy illness.  She was 69.  Mrs.Doherty was born Feb.5;1912;in Aldino;Md.;a daughter of the late Davis K.and Mamie Johnson Jones.  A Protestant by faith;she was preceded in death by her husband;Albert H.Doherty Sr.on Dec.29;1980.  Survivors include three sons;Dr.William P.Doherty of Warrenton;N;Y.;Richard E.Doherty of Perryopolis and Albert H.Doherty of Monessen;five grandchildren;and one brother;George Jones of Berlin;PA. Friends will be received in the Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home;Fayette City on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.;an on Thursday until 1 p.m.;when services will be held with the Rev.Bruce E.Smith;pastor of First Christian Church of Fayette City;officiating.  Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.  The Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
