Obituary

Edgar C.Houseman,77,of 126 Prospect Ave.,Charleroi,died Wednesday,Sept.8,1971,at 6:10 p.m. in Charleroi-Monessen Hospital after a lingering illness. He was employed as a conductor by the Penn Central Railroad until his retirement in 1965 and was a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen,Monongahela. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Elizabeth. Surviving are his widow,Theresa Thomas Houseman,two daughters,Mrs.Thelma Gobert at home and Mrs.Woodrow (Wilhmina) Hughes of Fellsburg,two sons,Edgar A.Houseman of Brussels,Belgium,and Norman W.Houseman of Belle Vernon,four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m.Thursday and from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Harold R.Toner Funeral Home,Belle Vernon,where a service will be held Saturday,Sept.11,at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev.Francis Blair of the Charleroi Presbyterian Church in charge. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Hrold R.Toner,funeral director.
