Obituary

Earl L. Miller, 90, of Charleroi, went to be with the Lord on Friday, Sept. 12, 2025. Born on May 9, 1935, in Lawrence (Hill Station), Pa., he was the son of the late Ann and Harry Miller. He was the youngest and last surviving of nine children. He was predeceased by his siblings, Gloria, Phyllis, Ruth, Elsie, Ilda ‘Sis,’ Jake, Ralph and Harry “Dutch.” In 1969, Earl married the late Barbara Consonery Henderson, who was widowed, and helped to raise, and became Dad to her five children, David Henderson, Donn (Lorrie) Henderson, Cheryl (Rob) Smith, Wayne Henderson, and Bill (Donna) Henderson. Also left to cherish his memory are eight grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. After attending National School of Meat Cutting in Toledo, Earl spent a lifetime in the grocery business, beginning at Del Farm in Charleroi. He and his wife Barb purchased Quality Market in Charleroi which they ran together in the ’70s and ’80s. Later he returned to grocery stores, including Giant Eagle in Monessen and others. In his early years, he was involved with establishing Grace United Methodist Church in Coal Center, where he also volunteered with Clover Hill Troop 1409. Friends will be received from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2025, at CARL J. SPALLINO FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION, Joseph A. Lopez, funeral director, 819 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Diane Fox, with interment following in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The family wishes to thank McMurray Hills Manor for the kind and caring staff and residents who became his family in his final years.
