Durwood F. Beatty,aged 39 years,died Monday morning, August 23,1948,at his home,328 Main street,Belle Vernon,following an illness of eight months. For the past nine years,Mr.Beatty has served as a state health officer. Surviving are his wife,Mrs.Mary Lynch Beatty;his father,Milton Beatty,Sr.of Belle Vernon,a sister,Mrs.Forrest Doyle of Speers;two brothers,Carlyle Beatty of Charleroi and Milton J.Beatty Jr.of Monessen.Friends are being received at the Melenyzer Funeral Home in Belle Vernon,where services will be held Wednesday,August 25th at 2 p.m.,with Rev.Herman Roney,pastor of the Methodist Church at Belle Vernon,officiating.
