Obituary

Dr.Francis C.Duvall,M.D.,aged 80 years,of 692 McKee Way,Monessen,died Monday,October 5,1953,at 5 a.m.,after a brief illness. He was born in Centerville,Pa.on May 5,1873 a son of the late John and Elizabeth Lash Duvall. Dr.Duvall graduated from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia in 1909,and after his internship at West Penn Hospital,began his practice in Charleroi. In 1911,he moved his practice to Monessen,and five years ago,went into semi-retirement. He was a member of the Monessen School Board for eighteen years,and worked for the state Board of Health. He was also City Health officer in Monessen,and was a member of the First Methodist Church of that place. He was a life member of the Charleroi F.and A.M.,and belonged to the McKean Commandery,Knights Templar. He is survived by his wife,Mrs.Lorena Duvall,two sons,George of Elizabeth,New Jersey,and Ensign Francis C.Duvall,stationed abroad Coast Guard Cutter Chincoteague,which is now at sea. The family will receive friends at the Rhome Funeral Home,Mckee avenue,from 1 to 5 and from 7 to 10 p.m. Funeral services will be held from the funeral home on Thursday,Oct.8,at 2 p.m.,with Rev.Allan J.Howes,of the First Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. H.Denver Rhome,funeral director.
