Obituary

Douglas L.Lemon,84,927 Henry St.,Belle Vernon,died Tuesday,Feb.13,1973,at 10:15 p.m.in the Golden Age Convalescent Home,Brownsville,after a brief illness. His son,Matthew Lemon of Pricedale,died Feb.10,and was buried yesterday,Tuesday,Feb.14,1973. Mr.Lemon was born in Sumpter,S.C.,May 10,1888,and lived in Belle Vernon 45 years. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church,Belle Vernon,and was chairman of the Desacon Board. He was also a member of the Trustee Board and had served 20 years as Sunday School superintendent. He was past master of Twin Lodge No.67,F&AM,Pricedale. Surviving are two sons,George and Jerome Lemon,both at home,one daughter,Mrs.Lena Payne,Pittsburgh,10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Beverly C.Draper Funeral Home,Monessen,from 7 to 9 p.m.Thursday. The body will be taken to Antioch Baptist Church,Belle Vernon,at 2 p.m.Friday and a Masonic service will be held there at 8:30 p.m.Friday. Funeral service will be at 1 p.m.Saturday at the church with the Rev.A.C.Morris,pastor,officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
