Dorothy W.Bevan;77;of Donora;died Sunday;April 23;2000;in Allegheny General Hospital;Pittsburgh. She was born April 28;1922;in North Charleroi;a daughter of the late Andrew and Frances Guswiler White. She was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church;Donora;where she was the pianist for the past two and a half years. She was also a member of the Junior Ruth Circle Class of the Church;Donora Women’s Club and Donora Historical Society. She was preceded in death by her husband;John M.Bevan;who died in 1984;a son;John M.Bevan III;and a brother;Jack White. She is survived by a son;Bruce A.Bevan of Donora;a nephew;Jack White of Donora;first cousin;Mary Laverne Dimmick of Pittsburgh;brother and sisters-in-law;Marvin and Marlene Bevan;Ray and Nancy Jones and Joseph and Marilyn Marklewicz;and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received in the JAMES A.RABE FUNERAL HOME INC.;701 Thompson Ave.;Donora;Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev.David K.Means;pastor of the First United Methodist Church;officiating. Burial will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Mrs.Bevan’s family will accept flowers or memorials to the First United Methodist Church;Donora. Memorial contributions to the church can be made through the funeral home.
