Dorothy (Bice) Halgus, age 94, of Belle Vernon, Washington Township, Pa., died on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at her home at 1:04 p.m. Born on Wednesday, October 5, 1921 in Mather, Greene County, Pa., she was the daughter of George Bice and Elizabeth Jankovich Bice Mrs. Halgus was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church. She enjoyed playing cards and played with the Poker Club and with the 500 Club for over 40 years. Dorothy was a wonderful homemaker, enjoyed baking and cooking, and was always generous with family and friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph Halgus on Wednesday, June 14, 2006? her parents? and four sisters, Stella Yanak, Ruth McGinsky, Mary Mrkobard and Mildred Magic. She is survived by her son and daughterinlaw, Joseph and Carol Halgus of Palm Beach, Florida? daughter and soninlaw, Janet and Julius Petrosky of Washington Township, Pennsylvania? three grandchildren: Jodie Dale, Christopher Halgus, Stacie and Eric Freed? six great grand children: Jenna Dale, Katia Freed, Caelan Freed, Karrina Freed, Christian Freed, Joey Halgus? many beloved nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Parzynski Funeral Home and Cremations, Family Owned and Operated, 626 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon, PA 15012 (724.929.6183) where a Prayer Service will be held Saturday, March 5, 2016 at 9:30 a.m A Funeral Mass will follow at 10:00 a.m.at Saint Sebastian Roman Catholic Church, 801 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon, Pa., with the Reverend Monsignor Roger A. Statnick, Pastor, as the Celebrant. Interment follows in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
