Obituary

Dorothy Kane Dolfi, 85, of
Belle Vernon, died Friday, July
20, 2001, in Mt. Macrina
Manor, Uniontown. A daughter
of the late Charles and Grace
Greenwood Kane, she was born
Oct. 28, 1915, in Donora. She
was a member of the First
United Methodist Church of
Belle Vernon, the Belle Vernon
Womens Club, the Order of the
Eastern Star since 1938, the
Pennsylvania Retired Teachers
Association and the National,
State and local AARP.
Formerly of Donora,she had resided in Belle Vernon since
1955. She retired in 1974 after
38 years of teaching in the
Rostraver and Belle Vernon
School Districts. Survivors
include three sisters, K. Faye
Giles of Salisbury, N.C., Betty
K. Vizza of Belle Vernon and
Gail K. Flower of Smithton. In
addition to her parents, her
husband, Ernest P. Dolfi,
preceded her in death in 1957.
A memorial service will be held
on Thursday at 11 a.m. in the
FERGUSON FUNERAL
HOME INC., a Golden Rule
Member Firm, 700 Broad
Avenue, Belle Vernon, with the
Rev. Tim McConville and Rev.
Charles Fowler, nephew of
Mrs. Dolfi and pastor of the
Central Highlands United
Methodist Church of Elizabeth
Township co-officiating.
Interment will be in Belle
Vernon Cemetery. If friends
wish, donations may be made
to the Belle Vernon First
United Methodist Church
Building Fund.
