Mrs. Dorothy D. Vernaccini, 99, of Sebastian, Florida passed away Saturday, March 11, 2017 at the Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach. Dorothy was born in Monessen, Pennsylvania and moved to Sebastian in 1982 from Washington, DC. She was a graduate of Monessen High School, Class of 1936, and had been a supervisor for the Secretary of the Department of Health, Education and Welfare, retiring in 1982 after 22 years of service. Dorothy was a member of St. Sebastian Catholic Church where she had been a member and a former president of the St. Sebastian Women's Guild. She had served as the District President of the Federation of Mobile Home Owners Association. She had been a member of the Genealogy Society of Sebastian and was an avid reader. Survivors include her husband Haynes “Bob” Young, daughter Georgetta Churan of Crofton, Maryland, grandchildren Susan Bloom and Robbie Coombs, great-grandchildren Cydney, Trevor and Cole, grandson Robbie Coombs, granddaughter Susan Bloom brothers Raymond M. Dubinsky of Accident, Maryland, Peter J. Dubinsky of Hershey, Pennsylvania, Arthur M. Dubinsky of St. Petersburg and Ernest J. Dubinsky of Rockville, Maryland, sisters Eleanor Strief of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Flora Ann Boyd of Indian Head, Maryland, step-son Robert Young (Grace) of South Lake, Texas, step-grandsons Josh and Jonathan Young, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband Everett D. Vernaccini and a brother Vincent Dubinsky. A private memorial service will take place for the family. Strunk Funeral Home, Vero Beach,Fla.,in charge of arrangements.
