Dorothy D. Skekel; 95; of Allentown; formerly of Monessen and Gainesville Fla.; died Monday; Sept. 18; 2006; in ManorCare Health Services; Bethlehem. Born in Monessen; she was the wife of the late Donald T. Skekel Sr. and one of five children of the late Archibald and Nora Davies Dawson. A 1932 graduate of Carnegie Institute of Technology (now Carnegie Mellon University); Dorothy taught at Monessen High School for nine years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Monessen and the Monessen Evening Woman’s Club. Survivors include two sons; Donald T. Skekel Jr.; and wife Carolyn C.; of Orefield; and Ted D. Skekel and wife Mary E.; of San Antonio; Texas; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren; and nephews and nieces. Friends will be received Friday; Sept. 22; in Bethany United Methodist Church; 1208 Brookside Road; Wescosville from 10 to 11 a.m.; the hour of service.
