Dorothy A. Dot Elgin; 91; of Harrison City; died Tuesday; Oct. 29; 2013; in Forbes Regional Hospital; Monroeville. She was born June 9; 1922; in New Eagle; to the late Robert and Ruth (Grundy) Abbott. Prior to her retirement; Dorothy was employed as the head cashier for Equitable Gas Co. in Pittsburgh. She was a member of St. Barbara Church in Harrison City; the Young at Heart group of the Church; the Franklin Squares of Monroeville and the Legacy International Square Dancing Association. In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by a brother; Thomas Abbott. Dorothy is survived by her husband of 64 years; Robert J. Elgin; a sister-in-law; Betty Hags; of Penn Township; and a niece; Carol Ann Wasalchock; of Belle Vernon. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 Thursday at the JAMES E. LINSDAY FUNERAL HOME INC.; 3343 Route 130; Harrison City. A blessing service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday; in the funeral home; with Father Kenneth G. Zaccagnini officiating. Entombment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery; Belle Vernon.
