Obituary

 

Dorothy A. Labrasca Carrozza, 91, of North Belle Vernon, died Monday, Feb. 10, 2014, at 12:08 p.m. at LaFayette Manor, Uniontown. Born Aug. 25, 1922, in Chicago, Ill., she was the daughter of the late Andy and Rose Russo Labrasca. A resident of North Belle Vernon, Mrs. Carrozza was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church, owned and operated the former Villa Nova, Monessen, was a member of the former St. Sebastian Legion of Mary, the former Ladies Guild, former member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Belle Vernon Court 1522, former member of Belle Vernon American Legion Post 659 Ladies Auxiliary, helped deliver meals on wheels and was a member of the Good Sam's Camping Club. She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Peter P. and Beth Carrozza of Mount Dora, Fla., two daughters and sons-in-law, Rosemary and Kenneth White of Normalville, and Angela and Robert Bernardo of Columbia, S.C., five grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter P. Carrozza Sr. on Aug. 17, 2010, two brothers, Russell Labrasca and Michael Labrasca, and a sister, Angeline Tretter. Visitation will be held 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATIONS, Family Owned and Operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-6183. Prayer service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home followed by funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Msgr. Roger A. Statnick, pastor, as celebrant. Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Members of St. Sebastian Church will pray the rosary for the departed soul of Dorothy Carrozza Wednesday at 3 p.m. in the funeral home.
