Doris Elaine Gerard; 74; of Charleroi; died Wednesday; June 23; 2004 in UPMC-Shadyside. A daughter of the late Herbert and Amelia Mollard; she was born in Fairhope (Belle Vernon) on April 15; 1930. Formerly of Belle Vernon; she had resided in Charleroi for the past 43 years and was a member of Christ Church of Brownsville. Mrs. Gerard was a registered nurse at the former Charleroi-Monessen Hospital and retired in 1991 from Mon Valley Hospital. Survivors include her husband; Jess Gerard; with whom she celebrated 52 years of marriage on June 18; two daughters; Denee Gerard of Charleroi and Janet Gerard of York; one son. Jeffrey L. Gerard of Charleroi; one sister; Martha Houts of Birmingham; Ala.; and one grandson; Christian Miller of York. In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME INC. and CREMATION SERVICE; (724-929-5300); a Golden Rule Member Firm; 700 Broad Ave.; Belle Vernon. Funeral services will be in Christ Church; 305 Church St.; Brownsville on Friday; June 25; at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Stan Burdock officiating.
