Donald W. Cutty Niemela;66;of Fayette City R.D.;Perryopolis;died Friday;June 8;2001;in the emergency room of Mon Valley Hospital. He was born Aug.13;1934;a son of the late Oliver W.Niemela and Helen C.Matson Niemela;who survives and resides in Fairhope;Belle Vernon. He was a steelworker for 45 years for Pittsburgh Steel and the Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Allenport plant. Survivors include his wife;Jane Harger Niemela;a daughter;Diane Niemela Merrell and husband Mark of Strongsville;Ohio;two grandsons;Justin Reynolds and Max Merrell;a son;Donald W.Niemela Jr.of Belle Vernon;daughter;Katherine M.Niemela of Los Angeles;Calif.;a brother;Oliver C.Niemela and wife Norma Jean Holmes Niemela of New Providence;N.J. and their four sons and families. Arrangements were handled by the ELRY-McCRORY FUNERAL HOME;INC.;334 Main St.;Fayette City. There was no public viewing and private interment was held for the family.
