Donald Mitchner; 71; of Coal Center; died Sunday; April 1; 2012; at UPMC Mercy Hospital; Pittsburgh. Born July 26; 1940; in California; he was the son of the late George D. and Geneva Sethman Mitchner. Mr. Mitchner was a resident of Coal Center for the past 23 years; having previously resided in Bentleyville. Mitch was a retired truck driver of 36 years with Fox Grocery (Green Thumb Division); and later Wetterau and Supervalu. He was also a former teamster representative for Local 872. Don belonged to the senior citizens group of Center on the Hill; where he enjoyed meeting with his many friends and participating in all the activities. In his early years he enjoyed hunting; fishing; camping and riding motorcycles. He and his wife were avid auction goers and he loved working his farm and telling stories to his family and friends. Don cared greatly for his family and friends and was loved by all who knew him. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his wife; Loretta Lunt Mitchner; to whom he was a loving and devoted husband for over 50 years; five sisters and two brothers-in-law; Yvonne Jarvis; of Bentleyville; Constance and Bruce King; of Denbo; Dionne Ambler; of Brownsville; Jacqueline and Ron Krivda; of Coal Center; and Georgette Wilson; of Bentleyville; brother-in-law and best friend and sister-in-law; Leslie and Linda Lunt; of Rostraver Township; and many nieces; nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by an infant brother; Robert Mitchner; and brother; Dwayne Mitchner. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATIONS; Family Owned and Operated; 626 Broad Ave.; Belle Vernon; (724) 929-6183. Services will be held Wednesday at the Parzynski Funeral Home at 10 a.m. with Pastor Robert Williams of Mon Valley Seventh-day Adventist Church officiating.
