Donald M. Kerr; 76; of Orlando; Fla.; formerly of Dawson; died Tuesday; Aug. 8; 2006; in his residence with his family at his side. He was born Nov. 17; 1929; in Masontown; a son of the late Carl S. and Anna Mary Burrass Kerr. He was retired from U.S. Steel Clairton Works; a 27-year member of the Dawson Volunteer Fire Co.; having served as captain at one time; and a former chief of police for Dawson Borough for 18 years. He is survived by a son; Dale C. Kerr; of Orlando; Fla.; a daughter; Donna Diane McCune and husband James; of Belle Vernon; a sister; Maxine Harshman; of Dickerson Run; a brother; James E. Kerr; of Cleveland; Ohio; three grandchildren; Jamie Miller and husband Jason; and James D. McCune; all of Belle Vernon; and David McCune and wife Melody; of Confluence; four great-grandchildren; Chelsea McCune; Jason Miller; Talon Miller and Zaya McCune. He was preceded in death by his wife; Wava A. Wingrove Kerr; on June 9; 2001; and an infant brother and sister; Jackie and Geraldine Kerr. Friends will be received in the ELEY-McCRORY FUNERAL HOME INC.; 334 Main St.; Fayette City; on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday; Aug. 12 until 11 a.m.; the hour of service with the Rev. Richard Klein officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
