Obituary

Donald Lensky, 76, of Fallowfield Township, died Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2003, in the emergency room at Mon Valley Hospital. He was born Dec. 2, 1926, in Detroit, Mich., the son of the late Peter and Olive Cratty Lensky Lochmuller. He was a member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church and American Legion Post 22, both of Charleroi. Mr. Lensky was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, serving in the European Theater of Operations. He was retired as the lock and dam operator for the Army Corps of Engineers at Lock No. 4. Surviving are his wife, Norma Lessman Lensky, one daughter and son-in-law, Sharon Elaine and Richard Evans of Fallowfield Township, one granddaughter, Darsey Ann Duffey of Clearwater, Fla., one sister, Elaine Shuert of Oxford, Mich., and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received in the CARL J. SPALLINO FUNERAL HOME, 819 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held in St. Mary's Episcopal Church Saturday, Oct. 18, at 9:30 a.m. with Deacon Jack V. Dolan officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. A vigil service will be held in the funeral home Friday at 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Heart Association.
