On September 7, softly and tenderly the voice of Jesus whispered in Don's ear, come home. Don's response was yes Lord, here I come on September 7 softly and tenderly, Don rest with Jesus. He passed peacefully in his sleep in Medina, Ohio. Don was born on August 12, 1932 to the late Lynwood Dewey Greene and Estella Bowie-Greene in Monessen. He gave his life to the Lord at a young age and served Him with all his heart, his entire life. Don always said, "He was God's favorite son". He attended Mt. Sinai Baptist Church in Cleveland, Ohio, under the leadership of Pastor C. J. Matthews.
Don was a veteran of the Korean War, he had a lengthy career working for the Federal Government, from which he retired, he was a champion for civil rights, he loved his Lockview community where he grew up, Don loved all sports but, basketball was his passion and he played with Seniors and retired at 85.
Don will be reunited with his father, Dewey; mother, Estella; brother, Lynwood Jr.; sisters, Bertha and Klara; and daughter, Debbie. Don leaves to cherish his memory, wife, Billie Hill-Greene; sisters, Dorothy Byrd and Jessie Reynolds (Ully); daughters, Charmie Randolf (Robert), Eilean Greene and Klara Greene-Eaton (Rickey); sons, Donald Jr. (Denise), Kenneth (Antoinette), and Steve (Shequoia); 15 grandchildren; Goddaughter, Telden Graham; and host of nieces,
