Obituary

Donald C. Summers,63,who was a machinist for the Valley Independent 38 years, died at Mercy Hospital,Pittsburgh on Wednesday, Aug. 10,1966 at 2:30 p.m.  He had been admitted on Monday. Mr. Summers,a resident of 701 Rostraver St.,Monessen had been in declining health for some time.  He was born at Morgantown, W.Va. Surviving are his widow, Mildred (Deitsch) Summers; the following children: Donald C. Jr. of Monessen,William H.with the U.S.Air Force at Midway Island in the Pacific,Marvin L. of Jacksonville,Fla.,David J. of Monessen,Mrs. Joseph (Patricia) Mauro of Inglewood,Calif.,James E.,Robert G. and Linda, all at home; eleven grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Dorothy Markle of Belle Vernon and one brother, Frank of Morgantown,W.Va. Friends will be received after 7 p.m. on Thursday at the H. Denver Rhome Funeral Home in Monessen. Service there Saturday,Aug. 13,at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Joseph Rial of the First Methodist Church,Monessen, officiating.  interment in Belle Vernon Cemetery. H. Denver Rhome,funeral director.
