Don A. (Butch) Province;62;of Pennsylvania Avenue;Speers;died Wednesday;Jan.12;2000;at 10:30 p.m. in Mercy Hospital;Pittsburgh. He was born Sept.4;1937;in Speers;a son of the late John A.and Estelle Dunkerly Province. He was a member of the Speers United Methodist Church;a member and past master of the Belle Vernon Lodge 643 F&AM;a life member of the Belle Vernon Volunteer Fire Company Number Two. He was an engineer for the former Monessen Southwestern Railroad of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel and retired in September 1999 from Interstate Paper Supply Company in Roscoe. Survivors include his wife;Carole DeShong Province;two sons and one daughter-in-law;Curtis R.Province of St.Mary’s;Ga.;and James L.and Terri G.Province of Meridian;Miss.;one daughter and son-in-law;Debra and Louis LaManna of Speers;one brother;Loren T.(Ted) Province of Monessen;one sister;Daryl Wilson of Speers;six grandchildren;Jessica M.;Loren M.;Lindsey A.;Alexander James Province;and Travis D.and Ethan A.LaManna. In addition to his parents;he was preceded in death by two brothers;Robert L.and Tim Province;and one sister;Donna Lee Hazelbaker. Friends will be received on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME INC.;a Golden Rule Funeral Home;700 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon;where funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. with Pastor Jeff St.Clair officiating. Belle Vernon Lodge 643 F&AM will meet in the funeral home Friday at 7:30 p.m. to hold services.
