Obituary

Dolores Yurkovich, 89, of Belle Vernon, Washington Twp. passed away peacefully Saturday, October 19, 2024, at The Residence at Hilltop. Born November 25, 1934, in Belle Vernon, she was the daughter of the late James and Edith Guerra Laratta. A lifelong resident of Belle Vernon, Mrs. Yurkovich was a member of St. Sebastian R.C. Church and attended St. Joan Of Arc Church, Farmington, PA. Dolores will be remembered for her selfless spirit and generous dedication to her community. She volunteered extensively and served on the Board of Directors for the Mon Valley United Way. Additionally, she chaired the Washington Township Recreation Board for many years. Her legacy and kindness, compassion, and community service will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, John J. and Teri Yurkovich of Evan, WV, a daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Dr. George Grisnik of Southpointe, three grandchildren, Brandon Grisnik, Jarred Donahoe, and Chad Donahoe; five great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John P. Yurkovich in 2021 and one sister, Marie Nelson of St. Albans, WV. Friends will be received Tuesday, from 4 PM to 8 PM in the Ferguson Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 700 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon. 724-929-5300. www.FergusonFuneralHomeandCrematory.com. Funeral services will be in the funeral home on Wednesday at 12:30 PM with Rev. Michael Thomas officiating. Entombment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Also, thanks to the staff of OSPTA and Lynn Rusnak for their dedication and their caring ways.
