Obituary

Dewey Chirp Bartolozzi of Dunlevy, who would have been 102 on Sunday, died Friday, March 6, 2009, in Adult Assisted Living, Dunlevy. He was born March 8, 1907, in Dunlevy, a son of the late Santi and Palmira Francesconi Bartolozzi. Mr. Bartolozzi was a member of Mary, Mother of the Church Parish in Charleroi and the Guiseppi Garibaldi in Dunlevy. He was an avid gardener, hunter and fisherman. He retired from the Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Co., Allenport plant, in 1971. He is survived by his wife, Julia Katinsky Bartolozzi, with whom they celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary on July 5, 2008. He is the beloved father of two sons, Frank (Betty) Bartolozzi of Dunlevy and Craig (Beth) Bartolozzi of Dunlevy, one daughter, Carole (Richard) Chacko of Sacramento, Calif., six grandchildren: Pamela Neihaus, Julie Seighman, Mathew and Melina Bartolozzi, Georgia Kern and Richard Chacko, nine great-grandchildren: Bailey, Alex, Jonathan, Robert, Brenda, Grace, Gianna, Caitlyn and Lauren, and beloved nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, David Bartolozzi, three brothers, Armand Mundo, Albeno Finnigan, and Nello Bartolozzi. Friends will be received Sunday from 5 to 9 p.m. in the SCHROCK-HOGAN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 226 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi. (724-483-2911.) A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 9, at 10:30 a.m. in Mary, Mother of the Church, with his pastor, the Rev. David F. Dzermejko officiating.
