Obituary

Dennis Ondrejko, 66, of Belle Vernon, went to be with the Lord Friday, April 24, 2015, in Monongahela Valley Hospital. A son of Helen Miskovich Ondrejko and the late Albert J. Ondrejko, he was born in Mt. Pleasant on Oct. 22, 1948. Denny was an active member of the Pricedale Union Church, several area clubs and was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golf and bocci. Dennis worked at Dyno-Nobel for 43 years, retiring in 2013. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Darlene H. Smoody Ondrejko; two daughters and a son-in-law, Shelly Whiteko and her husband, Joel, of Belle Vernon, and Denetta Ondrejko and her fiance, Matthew Woodward, of Greensburg; three grandchildren, Cassie and Natalie Whiteko, and Liam Woodward; mother, Helen Ondrejko of Greensburg; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Marlene Kovach of Youngwood, Allison and Eugene Maughan of Madison, and Karen and Larry Evansek of West Newton; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jerry and Sheron Suppa; mother-in-law, Anna Smoody; as well as several nieces and nephews. Denny will be remembered as a beloved husband, and a devoted father and grandfather and will be missed by many. Friends will be received 4 to 8 p.m. on Sunday in the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., 724-929-5300, 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, www.FergusonFuneralHomeAndCrematory.com. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Monday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. James Mimidis officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
