Obituary

Mrs.Delphine Van Fleet,51,of Banning,died Thursday,March 27,1969,at 1:40 a.m.in Washington (Pa.)Hospital a a result of injuries received in a car-truck accident Wednesday night on Interstate 70,a mile west of the Bentleyville interchange. Mrs.Van Fleet's daughter,Mrs.Sheila Dawn Mencer,30,of West Newton R.D.1,was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. Mrs.Van Fleet and her daughter were traveling east on interstate 70 when a tractor-trailer,driven by Harold Rich,36,of Downey,Calif.,skidded across the medial strip to avoid hitting a car which had applied its brakes. Mrs.Van Fleet,who was born in Banning on Oct.6,1918,was a member of Banning Methodist Church. Surviving are her husband,Peter W.,two sons,Peter E.of Dawson R.D.,and Robert C.of Greensburg,her mother,Mrs.Elsie Pavesi of Banning,two sisters,Mrs.Irene Dongilli of Banning and Mrs.Amelia Kascan of McKeesport,two brothers,Armand Pavesi of Wildwood,Pa.,and Robert Pavesi of Banning. Friends are being received at the J.William McCauley Funeral Home,West Newton. Service there Saturday March 29 at 2:30 p.m. with the Pastor of Banning Methodist Church officiating. Interment,Belle Vernon Cemetery. J.William McCauley is funeral director.
