Mrs.Behanna was born April 8;1924;in Purseglove;W.Va.;a daughter of the late William and Olive Wills Palfrey. She retired in 1992 from the Rostraver Elementary School;where she was employed as a secretary. Mrs.Behanna had spent all of her adult life in Belle Vernon. In addition to her parents;she was preceded in death by her husband;Richard C.Behanna Sr.;who died Dec.12;1991. Surviving are one son;Richard C.Behanna Jr.of Miami;Fla.;one daughter;Mrs.Dennis (Dianne) Steiner of Belle Vernon R.D.;four brothers;Richard Palfrey of Dunnellon;Fla.;Robert Palfrey of Courtland;Ohio;L.D.Palfrey of Warren;Ohio;and James Palfrey of Belle Vernon;five sisters;Mrs.Charles (Wilma) Whitelaw;Mrs.Clifford (Loretta) Steiner and Mrs.Kenneth (Sherry) Strenske;all of Belle Vernon;and Mrs.Louis (Lois) Krecik of Cheswick and Mrs.William (Lillian) Mort of New Port Richey;Fla.;four grandchildren;Scott Behanna of Charleroi and Todd Behanna;Duane Shoman and Dennis Steiner;all of Belle Vernon;and one great-granddaughter;Chelsea Behanna of Charleroi. Friends will be received Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.in the Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.;700 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon;where funeral services will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m.with the Elder Thomas Hamer of the Reorganized Church of Latter Day Saints;Fayette City;officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.is in charge of the arrangements.
