Obituary

The funeral of Mrs.F.H.Cook,who died of pneumonia at her home,35 McKee avenue,Saturday morning,Nov.2,1918,at 2:30,was held Monday afternoon,Nov.4,1918,there being a short service at the house for members of the family and another at the Belle Vernon Cemetery,at which were also many friends of the family. There were several beautiful floral tributes. Rev.Carson,pastor of the First Baptist Church,of which deceased was an active and earnest member,ably officiated at both services. Mrs.Cook,nee Delia Elsie Leonard,was born in Franklin Township,Michigan in 1882,was united in marriage to Frank H.Cook Nov.8,1900. To this union was born four children now at home,Saelia,aged sixteen years,Melvin,aged fourteen,Doris,aged nine,Leonard,aged seven. Besides there survives her father and mother,Mr.and Mrs.J.F.Leonard of Belle Vernon,three brothers,Hiram,of Belle Vernon,Edward and Ernest of Monessen,also three sisters,Mrs.Lynn Cook of Lunsing,Mich.,whose husband is also a brother of the bereaved husband,Mrs.John Zollars of Monessen,and Mrs.Wm.White of Chester,W.Va. The community as well as the family feels keenly her loss,for although in poor health,she possessed cheerfulness and determination which always made her presence a pleasure and many times she was doing for others when she should have been conserving her own strength.
