David Voss Theakston,84,of 814 Speer St.,Belle Vernon,died Monday,Nov.9,1992,at 5:30 p.m. in Mon Valley Hospital,Carroll Township. He was born Dec. 19,1907,in West Brownsville,a son of the late Harry Theakston and Emma Voss Theakston Bierer. A Belle Vernon area resident for over 70 years,he was the original owner and operator of the Belle Vernon Dairy Queen prior to his retirement. Survivors include his wife,Helen Gingery Theakston,with whom he celebrated 63 years of marriage on April 19,1992;two daughters,Mrs. Kenneth (Shirley) Dolan and Joyce Theakston,both of Belle Vernon;seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents,he was preceded in death by a son,Jack C. Theakston,in 1989;and a brother,Carl Theakston,in 1985. Friends will be received Thursday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Ferguson Funeral Home,Inc.,700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon. Services will be 11:30 a.m. Friday in the funeral home with Pastor Richard C. Klein Jr.of the Rehoboth Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Ferguson Funeral Home,Inc.,is handling arrangements.
