Obituary

David Summers Jr., 80, of
Washington Township, Belle
Vernon, died Monday, Dec. 6,
1999, in Jefferson Hospital. He
was born Nov. 10, 1919, in
Fairhope, Washington Township, a son of the late David
and Mary Summers Sr. He
was a former Washington
Township supervisor for 25
years and a former member of
the Washington Township
Volunteer Fire Company. He
was a member of St. Sebastian
Roman Catholic Church, Belle
Vernon, American Legion Post
659 and the VFW 699 Belle
Vernon and the Fairhope Rod
and Gun Club. He was a U.S.
Army veteran of World War II.
He was preceded in death by
one brother, Louis Summers.
Survivors include his wife,
Margaret Novotne Summers,
two sons and daughters-in-law, David D. and Lien Summers of the state of Virginia,
and Steven D. and Diane
Summers of Colorado Springs,
Colo., one daughter and son-in-law, Darlene A. and Marc
Covol of Washington Township, one brother, Charles
Summers of Washington
Township, and eight grandchildren. Friends will be received in the Eley/McCrory
Funeral Home Inc., Main
Street, Fayette City, on
Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7
to 9 p.m. and Thursday until 12:30 p.m.,when a Blessing service will be held,followed by a Funeral Mass at 1 p.m.in St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church,Belle Vernon,with the Rev.Donald P.Trexler as celebrant. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
