The Rev.David J.Aldridge;80;of Louisville;Ohio;died Monday;Dec.21;1998. Born April 21;1918;in Arnold City;he was a son of the late Henry and Ella Redmon Aldridge. In 1939;he married and moved to Boston to attend Eastern Nazarene College. He was ordained as a minister while pastoring his first church in Smithton. Rev.Aldridge served subsequent churches in Sharon;from 1958-1968;Mineral City;Ohio;1968 to 1974;Richmond Heights;Ohio;from 1974 to 1981;and Bay City;Mich.;from 1981 to 1984. He retired in 1981 and moved to Louisville. In addition to his parents;he was preceded in death by his wife;Veramae;in 1985;and by three brothers and sisters. Survivors include his daughter;Charlene Aldridge of Dallas;Texas;a son and daughter-in-law;Rev.David and Kimberly Aldridge of Columbus;Ohio;a granddaughter;Ashley;one brother;Theodore Aldridge of Pennsylvania;and five sisters;Maude James;Edith Wolf;Mildred Bennett and Pearl Hamilton;all of Pennsylvania;and Betty Joseph of Indiana. Friends will be received Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon in the Arnold Funeral Home;Canton;1517 Market Ave.North;Canton;Ohio;and from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday in the First Church of the Nazarene;Canton;where services will be held at 3 p.m. with the Rev.Marion (Skip) Barber officiating. Additional visitation will be held Monday;Dec.28;from 1 to 2 p.m.in Belle Vernon Church of the Nazarene;where a service will be held at 2 p.m. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Akron District Children’s Camp Scholarship in care of Nazarene District Center in Alliance. The Arnold Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
