The funeral service for Staff Sergeant David H.Sands;29;son of Mr.and Mrs.Oscar Sands of Fairhope;who was killed in action on November 23;1944;will be held at 2 p.m.Saturday;December 20;1947; at the Finnish Lutheran Church at Monessen in charge of Rev.Robert P.Hetico. Burial will be made in Belle Vernon Cemetery with the Fayette City American Legion in charge of Military honors. Prior to entering the Army at Perryopolis on January 28; 1942;he was employed by the American Window Glass Company at Belle Vernon. He received the Bronze Star for heroic action in Normandy and the Silver Star for heroism in Africa. He served with Company K;10th Infantry;First Division. He leaves his parents;two brothers and four sisters.
