David G. Grundler, 56, of Carnegie, died Tuesday, May 13, 2014, at 4:33 p.m. at his home. Born Aug. 30, 1957, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Harold H. and Mary Elizabeth Ackerman Grundler. A lifelong resident of Pittsburgh, David was Catholic by faith, worked in construction and was a member of the Pittsburgh Laborers Union and was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan. He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Leonard Parzynski of North Belle Vernon, nieces and nephews, Michael and Sherri Parzynski, Michelle and Donald Popovich, Patty and Ken Pope, Patrick and Michele Grundler, and great-nieces and nephews, Rachael, Samantha, Rebecca and Michael II Parzynski, Lauren and Madison Popovich, Brandon and Candice Wood, Rachael Pope, Zane and Caden Grundler. He was preceded in death by his brother, Harold J. ",Hal', Grundler, Retired Master Sgt., U.S.Army. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATIONS, Family Owned and Operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-6183. Prayer service will be held Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home followed by funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Msgr. Roger A. Statnick, pastor, as celebrant. Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Members of St. Sebastian parish will pray the rosary for the departed soul of David Grundler at 3 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
