Darnell A. Anderson; 54; of Rayland; Ohio; caught a heaven bound train on Thursday; Aug. 11. He was the son of the late deacon Emmanuel Anderson and Thelma Chapman Anderson. He is survived by wife; Gloria Anderson; of Monessen; two sons; Darnell K. Anderson; of Rayland; Ohio; and Rasheed Anderson; of Monessen; one daughter; Toscha and husband; Marshall Blalock; of Havertown; Pa.; and one grandson; Malek Blalock; of Havertown; brothers; Emmanuel; of San Jose; Calif.; and Leonard and wife; Cynthia Dee; Roscoe and Raven and wife; Jessica; all of Monessen; two sisters; JoAnn Smith; of Uniontown; and Carol Ann Steed; of San Jose; Calif. Preceded in death by siblings MaryAnn; Clarence; and Flora. He was the father-figure to a group of young men in Rayland. He worked as an electrician for the Wheeling-Pitt Steel and was later transferred to the Martin’s Ferry Works. He loved music; cooking; family and friends. Visitation will be Monday; Aug. 15; from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 at the Gate of Heaven COGIC; service to follow Tuesday; at 11 a.m. with Pastor William C. Bass officiating.
