Darlene Emerick; 70; of Rostraver Township; died Saturday; May 3; 2014; in Monongahela Valley Hospital. Born in Fairhope; Feb. 8; 1944; she was a daughter of the late Oliver and Alice (Carbaugh) Forsythe. Darlene was Protestant by faith. A homemaker; she liked to cook; and she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her three sons; David T. Emerick; of Rostraver Township; Mark A. (Beth) Emerick; of West Newton; and Brian L. (Barbara) Emerick; of Belle Vernon; daughter; Connie L. (Steve) Courie; of West Newton; 11 grandchildren; April (Jake) Lash; Anthony Harrold; Edin Emerick; Jerid Emerick; Justen Emerick; Josh Williams; Amber Emerick; Izryah Emerick; Brian Emerick Jr.; Adrianna Emerick and Hannah Emerick; three great-grandchildren; Noah and Angel Harrold and Valeria Emerick; two brothers; John Forsythe; of Monaca; and Chuck (Jane) Forsythe; of Roscoe; and two sisters; Lorraine (Ted) Wukovich; of Van Voorhis; and Ruth Carr; of Ohio. In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by her husband; John R. Emerick; on July 19; 2006; son; John R. Emerick Jr.; and two sisters; Joyce Kadar and Barbara Soutter. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in the JAMES C.
