Obituary

Daniel Prentice Jr.,23,formerly of Charleroi,was killed Thursday,July 16,1964,in an Okmulgee,Okla.glass plant accident. He was caught beneath a toppling glass pack and died instantly. Frank,an older brother,witnessed the accident when the huge box tumbled over. Prentice was a packer in the American-St.Gobain Glass Company's Okmulgee plant,a forerunner of which was the old Belle Vernon plant of the American Window Glass Co. The Prentice family moved West from Charleroi when American Window Glass Co.opened its Okmulgee development and merged with American-St.Gobain. Mr.Pentice was born in Charleroi Feb.25,1941. Surviving are his widow,Barbara Ann Thornberg Prentice,one son,Danny Ray,at home,his father and mother,Mr.and Mrs.Daniel Prentice Sr.of Okmulgee,a brother,Frank Prentice of Okmulgee,a stepbrother,Charles Taylor of Modesto,Calif.,a half sister,Donna Prentice of Okmulgee,two stepsisters,Linda Gail and Diane Akers of Okmulgee,and his grandmother,Mrs.Clara Prentice of Charleroi. Friends will be received at the Harold L.Schrock Funeral Home,Charleroi,Monday,July 20,from 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m. Services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday,July 21,at 2 p.m.with the Rev.James R.Swedenburg officiating. Interment will be in the Belle Vernon Cemetery. Harold L.Schrock,funeral director.
