Obituary

Daniel DeMarino,82,of 7 Center Drive,Monessen,died unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday,Feb.5,1997. Born Feb.6,1914,in Palena,Italy,he was a son of the late Biagio and Josephine Muschetti DeMarino. He was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church, Monessen. A1933 graduate of Monessen High School, he was also a member of BPOE Lodge 773 and American Legion Post 28,both of Monessen. Mr. DeMarino was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in Africa, Sicily and Italy. He retired in 1973 from USX Irvin Works, where he worked in the hot strip finishing department. Survivors include his wife of 46 years,Lillian Giannini DeMarino,three daughters,Mrs.Elbott (Donna) Sanft of Wexford,Mrs.Michael (Maria) Bachuchin of Chesterton,Ind.and another daughter in McCandless Township,one brother,Alfred DeMarino of Donora,four sisters,Lena Greco of Monessen,Mrs.Phil (Milda) Shar of West Mifflin,Mrs.Orlando (Eleanor) Riginelli of Monessen and Mrs.Steve (Youla) Popllch of Monessen and granddaughters,Liza and Leah Sanft and Samantha Hartman. In addition to his parents,he was preceded in death by a brother,Gino Roscoe DeMarino. Friends will be recieved Thursday and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.in the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral home Inc.,441 Reed Ave.,Monessen,where a Blessing service will be held Saturday morning at 9:30 a.m.,followed by a 10 a.m.Funeral Mass in Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church,Monessen. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. Timothy J.Billick,funeral director.
