Daniel W. Burkett, 81, of Elizabeth Twp., passed away on December 27, 2018 at UPMC McKeesport Hospital. A son of the late Willard and Katherine Treadwell Burkett, he was born in Pricedale on December 5, 1937. Daniel was formerly of Elks Place in Belle Vernon and had been living in Elizabeth Twp. since 1972. He was a steelworker at Irvin Works Plant of U.S. Steel retiring in 1997 after 38 years and a member of S.O.A.R., Local 2227. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Nina Raye Burd Burkett, one son and daughter-in-law Daniel L. and Jackie Burkett of Jefferson Hills, one daughter and son-in law, Kathy and James Terreri of Whitehall, two brothers, George Burkett of Belle Vernon and Charles Ross Burkett (Sheryl) of Hopwood, a sister-in-law Ina Faye Migliori of Whitehall, four grandchildren Katherine McGuire (Brian) of Verona, Brian Burkett of White Oak, David Soltis of Brentwood, Amanda Soltis of Mt. Lebanon, one great-granddaughter Jordyn McGuire and several nieces and nephews including Gloria Jean Freeman Bright. He is also survived by his faithful pet, China Doll. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Arlene Gaul in 2003. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Sunday in the Ferguson Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Belle Vernon.
