Daniel A. Davenport of 107 Wood St.,Belle Vernon,died Sunday, March 4,1979 at 9:30 p.m. in Mon Valley Hosptial, Carroll Twp. He was 74. Born in Belle Vernon on April 8,1904,he was the son of the late Harvey and Ellen Mackey Davenport. A member of the First United Methodist Church of Belle Vernon,Mr. Davenport was a past president and past chief of Fire Company No.2 of Belle Vernon. He was also past chief of Fire Company No. 1 of Belle Vernon and past president of the Fayette County Firemen's Association. At the time of his death,he was serving as Fayette County Fire Marshall. Mr. Davenport was also a member of the Western Pennsylvania Firemen's Association and the Fire Chiefs Association of Southwestern Pennsylvania. He was also a member of the Hermon Lodge No.6,the Ancient Free and Accepted Masons of Clarksburg, W.Va.,the Independent Order of Odd Fellows in Charleroi and the Belle Vernon Golden Age Assembly. He retired from the American Saint Gobain Glass Company of Arniold in 1969. He is survived by his widow, Clara Nagy Davenport;two sons, Albert E. Davenport of Denver, Colo.,and Robert E. Zeitz of Charleston, W. Va.; one daughter, Mrs. Carol Hayduk of Belle Vernon; two sisters, Mrs. Lillis Gibson of Johnstown and Mrs. Esther Mazza of Belle Vernon and three grandchildren.
