Obituary

Daisy Klanchar Hoffman, 88, of Victoria House, Monessen, formerly of Leighty Avenue, Belle Vernon, Rostraver Township, died Thursday, Jan. 17, 2002, at 1:50 p.m. in Mon Valley Hospital, Carroll Township. Born Dec. 6, 1913, in Arona, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Suzanne Skender Klanchar. She was a member of Pricedale Union Church and was a homemaker. Mrs. Hoffman was a volunteer for the American Red Cross, a member of the Belle Vernon Golden Age Assembly, the former Ladies Auxiliary of Belle Vernon American Legion Post 659, and was a retired cafeteria worker for the former Fox Grocery Co. for many years. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph A. and Marilyn Hoffman of Warren, Ohio, and James C. and Sandra Jo Hoffman of Monessen, one brother, Emil Klanchar of Irwin, two grandchildren, Robert Hoffman and Nancy Whitlock, two great-grandchildren, Katelyn Rae and Sarah Marie Whitlock. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph C. Hoffman on April 13, 2001, three brothers, John, Anthony and Stanley Klanchar, and two sisters, Sue Zollars and Mary Zunic. Visitation will be held Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the LEONARD J. PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME, family owned and operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon. Services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. James J. Mimidis, pastor of Pricedale Union Church, officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made in memory of Daisy K. Hoffman to Pricedale Union Church.
