Obituary
Cyril John Sotta,89,of 1305 Lincoln Ave.,Belle Vernon died Friday,April 14,1995,at 9:15 a.m. in Mon Valley Hospital Inc., Carroll Township. Born March 13,1906,in Italy,he was the son of the late Louis and Rose Gunter Sotta. Mr. Sotta resided in Washington Township for more than 70 years and was a member of the Washington Township Fireman's Club. He was Catholic by faith. He was also a member of the United Mine Workers of America,having worked in many area mines. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a step-son,William McCullough;two brothers, Anthony and Louis Sotta and two sisters, Mary and Delina. Surviving are his wife of more than 60 years,Honor Gauden Sotta;one son, Ronald Sotta,at home;one daughter,Nancy Stimmell of Belle Vernon;two sisters, Kathryn King of Kensington, Md.,and Josephine DeNardo of San Jose, Calif.;one grandson,Jerry Frankie of Monessen;two great-grandchildren,Tina and Jerome of Monessen and one great-great-granddaughter, Monique. Friends will be receved Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.,700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,where services will be held Monday at 11:30 a.m. with the Rev.Thomas Federline of St. Sebastian Church,Belle Vernon,officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by the Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.
