Obituary

Cosimo J. Antonucci Jr., 76, of Charleroi, died Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2004, at his residence. Born Aug. 8, 1928, in Long Branch, he was a son of the late Cosimo and Divina Santoro Antonucci. He had been employed by Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, Allenport Plant until his retirement. A World War II Army veteran, Mr. Antonucci had been a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church in Monessen. He had also been a member of the 10th Street Athletic Club, where he was an avid bowler, the VFW, the American Legion and the Vets Club, all in Charleroi. He served as the Mayor of Twilight Borough, a Democrat Committeeman, and had been an umpire in the Mon Valley for many years. Prior to moving to Charleroi in June 2004, he lived in Twilight for 29 years. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Beverly J. Ambler Antonucci, whom he married Sept. 9, 1950, four sons and daughters-in-law, Cosimo Larry and Kristine Antonucci of Jefferson Hills, Richard and Janet Antonucci of Homestead, Michael and Daria Antonucci of Charleroi, and Thomas and Yvonne Antonucci of Jefferson Hills, one daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Gary Leo of Speers, 19 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, one brother, Louis Antonucci of Belle Vernon, four sisters, Lena Burns of Long Branch, Sylvia Swamp of New Stanton, Carmella Washlack of Fallowfield Township and Matilda Cyonovich of Scenery Hill, and a special sister-in-law, Shirley Fetterman and husband Charles of Fayette City. Visitation will be held Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME INC. and CREMATION SERVICE, a Golden Rule Member Firm, (724-929-5300), 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
