Cornealur C. Sloan of 9 Market St.,Donora,died at 10:10 a.m. Monday,June 29,1987,in Mon Valley Hospital,Carroll Twp. She was 78. Mrs. Sloan was born Sept. 1,1908,in Anderson,South Carolina,a daughter of the late Arthur and Rosa Carter Bruce. She was a member of St. Paul Baptist Church,Donora,and the Women's Chorus and Senior Missionary Society of the church. Surviving are her husband,Andrew Sloan;two daughters,Hazel Thomas of Los Angeles,Calif.and Barbara Jean Haynes of La Puente,Calif.;one sister,Viola Tucker of Johnstown;14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.Friends will be received Thursday from 2 to 9 p.m. in St.Paul Baptist Church,Donora. Services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the church,with the Rev. Nathaniel Walker,pastor,officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery,Belle Vernon. The Percy E. Law Jr.Funeral Home,1324 Meldon Ave.,Donora,is in charge of arrangements.
