Obituary

Constance D. Puglia, 96, of Belle Vernon, passed away Wednesday, June 29, 2011, at The Residence at Hilltop. A daughter of the late Antonio and Vittoria (Angotti) DeSimone, she was born in Cosenza, Italy, on April 30, 1915, and came to the U.S. in July of 1926. Connie was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church in North Belle Vernon, where she served as a eucharistic minister. Prior to retirement, she was a hairdresser for over 65 years and was the owner and operator of Connie's Beauty Salon. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Paul A. and Deborah Puglia, of Belle Vernon, three grandchildren, Whitney Wesley and husband, Justin, Alan Puglia and Brett Puglia. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul R. Puglia, in 1994, and three sisters, Rose DeSimone, Theresa Palmer and Angelina Teringo. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, June 30, in the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, (724) 929-5300. www.fergusonfuneralhomeandcrematory.com. A blessing service will be held in the funeral home Friday, July 1, at 9 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church at 9:30 a.m. with the Rev. Msgr. Roger A. Statnick as celebrant. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The rosary will be prayed in the funeral home Thursday at 3 p.m. led by the members of St. Sebastian Parish.
