Obituary

Clinton Jack Rhodes, 78, of Belle Vernon, passed away in his home on Monday, July 30, 2007. A son of the late L. Ray Rhodes and Marie Stanko Rhodes Sarra, he was born in Jacobs Creek on Nov. 3, 1928. He graduated from Belle Vernon High School in 1946 and was a U.S. Navy veteran. Mr. Rhodes had worked for the Donora Southern Railroad, Inter-Ocean Insurance and Burns and Allied Security. Survivors include his wife, Ruth Houseman Rhodes, and three sons and two daughters-in-law, Clinton J. and Carol Rhodes, Richard B. and Andrea Rhodes and Jack D. Rhodes, all of Belle Vernon, three step-sons and daughters-in-law, Bruce and Linda Houseman, Warren and Jody Houseman and Brian and Debbie Houseman, and two step-daughters and sons-in-law, Vicki and Dave Carton and Jill and Paul Trett, all of San Luis Obispo, Calif., and three grandchildren, Rebecca Lynn Rhodes Burnes and husband Joe, of Dayton, Ohio, and William Sharpless and Nicole Stanish, both of Pittsburgh. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Ruth Dudgeon Rhodes, in 1996, and his step-father, Olterigi P. Sarra. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME and CREMATORY INC., www.fergusonfuneralhomeandcrematory.com, 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon (724-929-5300). Funeral services will be in the funeral home on Friday, Aug. 3 at 11:30 a.m. with the Rev. J.E. Mitchell officiating. Internment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
