Clifford Litterini; 79; of Monessen; died Saturday; Feb. 4; 2006; in the emergency room at Monongahela Valley Hospital Inc. He was born in Smithton on Sept. 5; 1926; a son of the late Rudolph and Margaret Backus Litterini. He was a resident of Monessen for over 50 years and a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church. Mr. Litterini also was a member of the Italian Society of Mutual Aid in Monessen; and past member and treasurer of the Marconi Social Club in Smithton. He worked over 50 years as a delivery route driver for Angelo’s Cigarette Service in Smithton; retiring in 1995. Mr. Litterini was a veteran of World War II; having served with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS H.W. Tucker. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law; James C. and Lynne Litterini; of River Edge; N.J.; his daughter and son-in-law; Laurie and Todd Chester; of Monessen; with whom he made his home; a brother and sister-in-law; Lawrence and Eunice Litterini; of Virginia Beach; Va.; three sisters and two brothers-in-law; Doris and John Wichtoski of Lansing; Mich.; Norma Penfield; and Carol and Maynard Munson; all of Tucson; Ariz.; two grandchildren; Zachary Chester and Cameron Litterini; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by his wife; Marie Merando Litterini; and three brothers; Lewis; James and Donald Litterini. Friends will be received Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the DALFONSO-BILLICK FUNERAL HOME INC.; 441 Reed Ave.; Monessen (724-684-8750). Services will be held Wednesday; Feb. 8; beginning with a 9:30 a.m. Blessing in the funeral home; followed by a 10 a.m. Funeral Mass in Epiphany of Our Lord R.C. Church. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
