Obituary

Clifford E. Breakwell, 94, of Belle Vernon, died Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2002, in Mon Valley Hospital. Born March 26, 1908, in Belle Vernon, he was the son of the late Edward and Emma Chance Breakwell. He had been employed by Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, Allenport Plant, as a project manager of the Coal Draw. Mr. Breakwell was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Belle Vernon, where he served as an Elder and Deacon, the F&AM 643, Belle Vernon, and the Shriners. He served for 35 years as a former member of the Belle Vernon and Belle Vernon Area schools boards, having served as a past president of the latter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Clifford Lee Breakwell, and one granddaughter, Beth Breakwell Buchko. Survivors include his wife, Doris Adelade Breakwell, one daughter-in-law, Marion Breakwell of Belle Vernon, two grandsons, Scott Breakwell of Belle Vernon and Christopher Breakwell of Erie, four great-grandchildren, Nathan, David, Rachel and Sarah Buchko, all of Ligonier, and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME INC., a Golden Rule Member Firm, 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon. Services will be held Saturday, Oct. 26, in First Presbyterian Church, Belle Vernon, at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. James Ramsey officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Belle Vernon F&AM Lodge 643 will conduct a prayer service in the funeral home Friday at 7 p.m., followed by the Deacons and Elders of the church at 7:30 p.m. Contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church, Belle Vernon, in Mr. Breakwell's memory.
