Obituary

Cleo Valdiserri, 95, of Sun City West, Ariz., formerly of North Belle Vernon, died Friday, Jan. 11, 2008, at 10:15 p.m. in Del E. Webb Memorial Hospital in Arizona. Born May 30, 1912, in Belle Vernon, he was the son of the late John and Maggie Meacci Valdiserri. A current resident of Sun City West, Mr. Valdiserri was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church in Belle Vernon. He was a retired steward from Nemacolin County Club, a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, a life member of the North Belle Vernon Fire Department and Belle Vernon American Legion Post No. 659. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Carl and Virginia Valdiserri, of Northville, Mich., and Wayne and Linda Valdiserri, of Sun City West, one sister, Eleanor Negalman, of Pekin, Ill., two grandsons, Douglas and Vincent Valdiserri, both of Belle Vernon, and four great-grandchildren, Tiffany, Eric, Derick and Josh Valdiserri. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Piere Valdiserri, on June 8, 2000, and one brother, Leo Valdiserri. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the LEONARD J. PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME, family owned and operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon (724-929-6183). Services will be held Thursday, Jan. 17, at 10 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by interment in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
