Mr. Matheny; a retired
employee of the Monessen
Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh
Steel Corp.; was born Aug. 5;
1910; a son of the late Cy and
Janet Burns Matheny.
He had resided in Monessen
for 58 years prior to moving to
Smithton; 10 years ago.
He was preceded in death by
a sister; Marian Simon in 1971.
Survivors include his
widow; Helen Reno Matheny;
one son; Clarence Matheny
Jr.; at home; one step-son;
Joseph Brea of Brunswick;
Ga.; and three step-grandchildren;
Kathy Mae Brea; Germaine
Brea and Joel Brea; all of
Brunswick; Ga.
Friends will be received in
the Yoney Funeral Home;
First St. and Schoonmaker
Ave.; Monessen; from 7 to 9
p.m. Wednesday and from 2 to 4
p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday. Services will be held Friday at 10 a.m.in the funeral home;with the Rev.Russell Vance;pastor of St.Paul’s Lutheran Church of Monessen;officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Stephen D.Yoney Jr. and Stephen D.Yoney Sr.;funeral directors in charge.
