Clarence Crawley;638 Reed Ave.;Monessen;died Wednesday;Nov.11;1981 in Mon Valley Hospital following an extended illness. He was 87. Born Sept.18;1894 in Gladys;Va.;a son of the late Samuel and Fannie Crawley. Mr.Crawley was a retired employee of the Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Corp.;Monessen Plant. He was a veteran of the U.S.Army;having served overseas in France during World War I. Mr.Crawley was a member of the Union Baptist Church for 60 years. Survivors include his wife of 64 years;Mary Ethel Crawley;four sons;Manuel of Washington;D.C.;Samuel of Vanderbilt;Albert at home and Harry of Philadelphia;three daughters;Frances Carter of Aliquippa;Fannie M.Burroughs and Constance Crawley;both of Monessen;12 grandchildren;11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson;one brother;Carl Crawley of Monessen;two sisters;Mrs.Lockie Lovelace of Gladys;Va.and Mrs. Minnie Brown of Brooklyn.N.Y.and a host of nieces and nephews. Friends will be received in the Union Baptist Church;McMahon Ave.;Monessen;on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m.and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the church on Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Rev.Timothy Combs;pastor;officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Duboise R.Carter Funeral Home;215 Fourth St.;Aliquippa;is in charge of arrangements.
