Christopher Shawn Bissett; 22; of Perryopolis; passed away Wednesday; Jan. 23; 2008; due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born Sept. 5; 1985; in Monongahela; the son of Robert and A. Kimberly Miller Bissett; who survive and reside in Perryopolis. Chris graduated from Frazier High School in 2003 and enlisted in the U.S. Navy in August 2003. He was stationed out of Norfolk; Va.; and serving as a small arms instructor aboard the USS Harry S. Truman; an aircraft carrier. Chris received the Top Gun Award for Excellent Marksmanship. During his four years in the Navy; he served in the Persian Gulf during Operation Iraqi Freedom. In addition to his parents; he is survived by one sister; Jamie Bissett; at home; his maternal grandmother; Evelyn Miller; of Beallsville; his paternal grandparents; Hubert and Mary Louise Bissett; of Waynesburg; and many aunts; uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather; William Miller. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends. Visitation will be held in the BLAIR-LOWTHER FUNERAL HOME INC.; 106 East Independence St.; Perryopolis (724-736-4424); on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m.; Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.; and Saturday until 11 a.m.; the hour of service with the Rev. Mike Malone officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers; memorial contributions may be made to: First Christian Church; Perryopolis; Pa. 15473.
